Open Source in Clinical Data Science plenary panel

Abstract

The interest in open-source technologies has been growing rapidly over the last few years, as individuals and companies look to expand their toolkit to answer the wide range of questions that face today’s clinical data scientists. The inclusion of open-source content and technologies in drug development and the provision of open-source content to the community creates a number of opportunities, but many have encountered barriers in adoption of open source. We will discuss these opportunities and barriers from different perspectives, including pharma, technology, and regulatory. Panelists will share the experience of both their individual organizations and the broader ongoing adoption of open source across industry.
